Their vision is for a rejuvenated medical campus where the community can come to one location for patient care from primary care to acute in-patient care. Combining the physician group’s former off-site clinic with the aging 54-bed regional hospital facility created the need for a new entry face-lift and a master plan. Neenan was chosen because of rural hospital experience, collaborative educational problem solving reputation, and innovative cost effective entry remodel.

Neenan’s leadership brought San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center and the physician group together around a collective vision for patient care. The collective vision is intended to reduce leakage and capture more of the insured patient population in the service area by shifting patient perception of their community healthcare services, thereby increasing utilization of local physicians and hospital ancillary services.

“The response to patient and family needs has been dramatic and we have also created
a structure that can accomodate our growth for outpatient services, clinic division and
inpatient hospitalization.”

- Russ Johnson, CEO, San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center
