New Technology High School is part of a first in the nation, district-side, small school concept.
American School and University Outstanding Common Area Design.

New Technology High consists of a remodeled 14,480 SF 1950s school, coupled with a 19,040 SF addition. The learning model of New Technology High revolves around project- and team-based learning, with a distinct curriculum and culture of computers and technology. The challenge to the design staff was to connect the staff and students to the world - while encouraging their connection to each other.

Interior design elements were chosen to encourage the warm side of high tech. The colors are lively, the steel wainscot contemporary, and skylights flood the area with natural light.  Acoustic panels, painted the wall and ceiling colors, provide surreptitious sound attenuation. Floor finish transitions, half-walls, track lighting, and even the sectional couch, are curvaceous and fun. The result is learning without boundaries.

“Neenan’s collaborative design process has been an extraordinary experience. The process involved regular interaction with teachers, students, administrators and staff to determine the school’s design needs, and continued while plans were solidified and even during construction.
We feel we’ve received a great value with Neenan – especially when you see the end product. This was a well planned, well organized and well supervised experience.”
