33,500 sq ft high school addition in Brush, Colorado includes a 200 seat auxiliary gym, weight room, wrestling room, and locker rooms. The design connected to the existing gym and created a sports complex that is separate from the existing school for after-hours functions. A new entry leads to a central concessions area that connects to all sports facilities.
Education objectives for students at Thomson Primary are diverse, creating the need for all areas to serve as learning spaces. Corridor display areas allow for shared learning between classes through project display. Children use the library to learn reading and computer skills. The amphitheater provides an outdoor reading/teaching space. The multi-purpose room is used for physical education, stage performances, and large educational assemblies.
“Walking through our school, I have no doubt it is the nicest school in all of eastern Colorado. I am still very impressed with our price per square foot. Great support during the election process - early options to define scope. Impressed with pre-bond activities. In Brush, the schools are the very heart of this community. Thank you, Neenan, for putting your heart into our project.”
