Planning Underway: New Office Space in the Works for The Neenan Company
Increased flexibility and sustainability

FORT COLLINS, Colo., July 25, 2012 – The Neenan Company announced plans to design and build an approximately 40,000-square-foot work space in Fort Collins, to house its corporate headquarters and its employees. Committed to environmental stewardship and a desire to create an ever more collaborative atmosphere for its staff, the company has set its sights on a 2014 move-in date.
During the project’s initial planning phase, the Neenan staff will move into a temporary “R&D” office space, to design a building and develop space that works best for the people. The temporary office configuration will let The Neenan Company shift people, furnishings and lab space; test assumptions; streamline communications and refine design before breaking ground on their new permanent headquarters.
“Working on the plans for our new offices really gives us a chance to employ the techniques we use on all our projects for others,” said Randy Myers, Neenan Company president. Moving to the temporary space allows us to test new workflow layouts and building materials in an actual office setting before final design decisions are made for our permanent headquarters.”
In addition to workflow and the built environment, The Neenan Company will emphasize sustainability in planning the new office space.
“It’s really important to us to practice what we preach,” Myers said, noting that Neenan’s current headquarters received LEED Existing Building Silver certification in 2010. “We’ve long used our headquarters as a place to test new eco-friendly products and systems, and we understand the very real impact that sustainable building has on decreasing operational costs and increasing productivity. We’re consistently striving to be more green not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because it’s the smart thing to do.” With 41 LEED accredited professionals on staff, and having completed LEED-certified and LEED-registered building projects totaling more than 1.1 million square feet in the United States, Neenan has the know-how to achieve sustainability success for its new office spaces,” Myers adds.
Neenan’s move to their temporary R&D workspace is slated for September 2012. “We’re excited for the move, and look forward to sharing more details as the design process gets underway,” Myers said.
